Welcome to the Server Load Balancing Wiki Project
"Knowledge is power, for real" - Astronaut Jack Austin
This is a wiki documentation site for discussion of server load balancing and related technologies. Such devices include:
- Server Load Balancers (also known as application directors/appliances/etc.)
- SSL Accelerators
- Global Server Load Balancers
Load Balancer Network Architecture
One of the biggest issues with load balancers are how they fit into a given network infrastructure. There are a couple of different ways that a given load balancer, depending on the vendor, can fit into a given network. One-armed, two-armed, multi-armed, route-path, bridge-path, these are all different ways load balancers can be implemented.
